Below are excerpts from articles that I found online relating to "life drawing" where people share their opinions on its benefits to our culture and even the science of how our brain works. None of the works will be obscene, yet we will keep social etiquette to limit the audience to adults-only. You won't want to miss this show, as it is up for one-night-only. - Lisa Bisbee Lentz

The nude figure and Christianity
“We have chosen in the Art Department at Gordon College to work respectfully with the human figure attempting to bring honor and glory to God in the process. We base this, in a Christian context, on a time-honored professional practice, holding the belief that the human form is the crowning achievement of God in Creation – worthy of our expert knowledge, and analogous to the scientific knowledge of the human body in medicine and biology. In our tradition as artists it is seen as the linchpin of our practice of visual knowledge. If you can accurately and expressively draw or paint or sculpt the human form you can draw anything.”

CAW provides artists and audiences of all kinds with practical help and the peer support needed to launch great ideas. CAW reaches out most especially to under-served folks --- the creative outlier or emerging artist --- the new audience --- those with limited mobility or income. CAW helps “AWL” organize events, find venues and secure funding.
The Isaac Taylor Garden will be brimming with artists represented by Greater Good Gallery (G3). The G3 artists and performers will be showcasing their talents and skills by demonstrating painting, sketching, making jewelry and speaking about future creative endeavors. This is an instant where you will be inspired to create, or smile with admiration during a joyful gathering of like-minded artists and creators.

Design Your Own Jewelry - Event with award winning jewelry designer, Alice Bilello, Sept 2 & 3, 2013 from Noon to 3pm
Bilello designed her first piece of gold beads, pearls and Malachite 32 years ago, however she kept her full time job and it was just a hobby. Four years ago, Bilello's sister encouraged her to pursue jewelry design and since then, she has won two national awards including a pearl design competition in a national jewelry publication. Audrey Brinson, a graduate with a Bachelors of Fine Art in jewelry and metals, taught Bilello the tricks of the trade - how a jeweler makes jewelry. Bilello shares, "Audrey sent me to a gem show where I was instantly inspired by the beautiful display millions of stones." The excitement from the gem show spurred Bilello's passion to become a full-time jewelry designer. Bilello started her own creative business, Harbor Island Designs.
Bilello will be demonstrating her craft during Artwalk, September 13 at the NC History Center Museum store where her jewelry creations are currently on display. While in Oriental, you can visit Marsha's Cottage to see more of her contemporary jewelry designs.
