Prospectus and Registration Form Calender Prizes Onslow Art Society's 53rd Spring Art Show Juror Charity Valentine, Coordinator, Associate of Fine Arts at Pitt Community College received her BS in fine Art (Cum Laude) from Colorado State University in Pueblo and her MFA (Magna Cum Laude) from the School of Art & Design at East Carolina University. Ms. Valentine is currently employed at Pitt County Community College where she has, since 2009, essentially built the school’s Fine Art program from scratch. In that time, she has developed a university transfer program that includes photography, painting, sculpture, drawing, metals, art history, design, printmaking, textiles, watercolor, computer art, and more. In four years, the program has grown from 35 students to almost 120. In her personal work, Ms. Valentine is identified as a photographer, but prefers to define herself as a maker. While teaching several levels of photography at PCC, she also finds the time to conduct workshops in encaustic and pine-needle basket weaving, and has lately begun to work in metals - specifically enameling. She has exhibited nationally in the Westmoreland Art Juried Show in Latrobe, PA, at Mills Pond House Gallery in St. James, NY, Slocumb Galleries in Johnson City, TN, and at Eagle Art Gallery in Murray, Kentucky. Regional exhibits include the Gregg Museum of Art & Design in Raleigh, Rocky Mount Arts Center, Community Council for the Arts in Kinston, and the Wellington B. Dear Local Artists,
The Epiphany School of Global Studies is preparing for its Annual Gala and Auction “Be Inspired” to take place on Saturday, March 22 at the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center. The Gala and Auction is our only fundraising event that celebrates and builds support for the school and its mission rooted in - Bold Scholarship, Open Hearted-Faith and Global Citizenship. The Gala and Auction includes dinner, a silent auction, live entertainment and a live auction. A portion of the proceeds from the Gala and Auction are offered in support of The Epiphany Open Door Diversity Scholarship. As its mission states, “The Open Door Scholarships provide opportunities for The Epiphany School of Global Studies to attract students with proven academic excellence in order to expand the cultural diversity of the school community.” Recipients of this scholarship are screened and selected on the basis of academic excellence, strength of character and financial need. This year we would like to feature local and regional artists at our Open Door Scholarship silent auction table. Please consider donating your work in support of scholarship. Items donated will be beautifully displayed during the auction with the artists name and city of residence. Pieces will also be featured on the Epiphany Gala and Auction Facebook page prior to the event. This is a wonderful opportunity to support scholarship while promoting our local art community. Please use the attached form to make your donation. Our auction committee will be happy to pick up your tax deductible donation at a time that is convenient for you, or it may be delivered to the school no later than March 10, 2014.
