Claudina Madrid is a Latina Contemporary Artist originally from Los Angeles, California and now resides in New Bern, North Carolina. She studied under the Fine Arts painter Claude Fiddler and continued her studies with urban and jailhouse artists.
The works are greatly influenced by the 20th century fauvist and postmodernist movement, with a prime focus on indigenious and folk art of the Americas and Africa. Her works or “obras de arte”, are responses to the contrast in culture from west to east coast. Her eclectic style incites a nostalgic feeling of joyful, juvenile delinquency.
